Honoring the Craft
Organic fabrics breathe, change, and soften with time. Here is our simple guide to washing and maintaining your sheets and towels to ensure they stay plush and durable for years to come.
Washing Your Bedding
Wash your organic sheets separately on a gentle, cool cycle (maximum 40°C/100°F). Washing sheets on their own prevents friction from zippers and buttons which can snag fibers.
Recommended Soap
Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid laundry softeners and chlorine bleach, which coat and weaken the natural fibers, reducing breathability.
Drying & Ironing
Line drying is optimal—it naturally whitens sheets and leaves a crisp scent. If tumble drying, use a low heat cycle and remove sheets promptly while slightly damp to minimize wrinkles.
Wrinkle Care
Linen has a beautiful, natural texture and doesn't need ironing. For cotton sateen, if you prefer a pressed look, iron on a warm steam setting while the cotton is slightly damp.
Restoring Towel Plushness
High-GSM cotton towels require care to maintain their absorption power and soft pile. Over time, build-up of soap residues and softeners can stiffen fibers.
Skip Softeners
Fabric softeners coat fibers with a silicone film, making them repel water. Skip them to keep absorbency peak.
The Vinegar Trick
Every 5-6 washes, run towels with 1 cup of white vinegar in place of soap. This dissolves mineral deposits and residue.
Give it a Shake
Before putting towels in the dryer and after pulling them out, give them a firm snap/shake. This opens up the cotton loops.
Quick Care Checklist
| Things We Love (Do) | Things To Avoid (Don't) |
|---|---|
| Cool machine washing (30-40°C) | Hot water cycles (causes shrinkage) |
| Mild eco-friendly liquid soaps | Fabric softeners (destroys absorbency) |
| Line drying / Tumble drying on low | Over-drying on high heat (weakens threads) |
| Vinegar rinse for towel stiffness | Dryer sheets (creates wax coatings) |
